Al Jisr Foundation is a Zakat fund, non-profit organization. Established on the14th Dhu al-Hijjah 1431H/November 14th, 2010, Muscat-Sultanate of Oman, under the Ministry of Social Development rule number 127/2010, in accordance with the provisions of the NGO Law No. 14/2000.

The Board of Directors that run the foundation is comprised of:

  1. Ms. Fawziya Saud Salim Bahwan Al Mukhaini – Chairman of Board of Directors.
  2. Ms. Amina Saud Salim Bahwan Al Mukhaini – Member of Board of Directors.
  3. Ms. Anisa Saud Salim Bahwan Al Mukhaini – Member of Board of Directors.

The foundation focused on individual cases which included renovating houses, distributing ration, medical assistance and providing scholarships. We assisted over 700 people but wanted to create a bigger impact.

Early 2018, Al Jisr Foundation decided to focus on sustainable projects in health and education. These two categories are the foundation of a strong future.

Al Jisr Foundation is the first Omani NGO to sign the UN Global Compact. 

The UNGC is a United Nations initiative aimed to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies. The UN Global Compact is a principle-based framework for businesses, stating ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.
