Empowering families in Oman

In 2017, the Al Jisr Foundation launched a new education program for the social empowerment of families in Oman, entitled ‘My Plan is My Success’. The program runs in partnership with the Omani Women’s Association. Led by Mr Ahmed Bin Hilal Al Harthy, General Manager of the Al Jisr Foundation, the first workshop took place at the Women’s Association in Muscat. Lectures were given by Professor Turkiya Al Zadjali and Mr Ahmed Al Shibli.

The empowerment workshop aims to help families to prepare a plan of action for their small project, instilling love of work, self-reliance and independency, and an overall sense of contribution to society. The program was inspired by the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) who urged his followers to work and achieve self-reliance. The Al Jisr Foundation firmly believes that the people of Oman have all the potential to achieve this and is pleased to support its realization.

The duration of the social empowerment program is six months. During this time, the Al Jisr team will work closely with the families involved, facilitating a variety of workshops to help further develop their professional skills and provide ongoing guidance to expedite results.
