The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Wednesday signed an agreement for the construction of a dialysis unit at Sur hospital, funded by Al Jisr Foundation.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Darweesh Saif Al Maharbi, MoH’s Undersecretary for Administrative & Financial Affairs, and Al Jisr Foundation’s General Manager, Ahmed Hilal Al Harthy. Dr. Al Maharbi emphasized the significance of public and private sector partnerships for general interest, praising Al Jisr Foundation’s initiative.
Mr. Al Harthy stressed the institution’s continuing commitment to partnerships to partnerships and cooperation with government institutions to serve the development of the country, including with regard to health services provided to citizens.
Phase 1 of the dialysis center plan was a competition hosted by Al Jisr Foundation. The winner, Mohammed Al Farsi, will have the building constructed based on his submission for the competition. Phase 2 will be the construction of the center, which will occur in 2019.
It should be noted that while the old building comprises 14 beds, accommodating around 34 patients, and two beds in three isolation rooms, the proposed new building will be built on an area of 1,150 square metres, comprising 20 beds that can cater to 60 patients a day.
